Journey | NURS 8500 – Evidence-Based Practice II: Planning and Implementation | Walden University
The role of leadership in the change process is essential; leaders should be involved in every step of the change process, from planning and implementing to monitoring and evaluating the results. They should provide direction, guidance and support to ensure that changes are made effectively, while also creating a culture in which employees feel comfortable embracing new ideas and strategies. Leaders must also actively engage with stakeholders to ensure that everyone is on board with the proposed changes and their implications. In my practicum setting specifically, I have identified a need for improved data collection systems; as such, it is important for leadership to understand why this change is necessary and to provide mentorship and resources to facilitate its successful implementation.
