For my first journal entry, I am investing in three US companies that are publicly traded. I am practicing good diversification by selecting companies from different industries.
- The first company I am investing in is Apple (AAPL). I am investing in Apple because it is one of the largest technology companies in the world and has a strong track record of innovation and financial performance. I am investing $10,000 in Apple.
- The second company I am investing in is General Electric (GE). I am investing in GE because it is a diversified conglomerate with a strong presence in multiple industries such as aviation, healthcare, and energy. I am investing $7,500 in GE.
- The third company I am investing in is Ford (F). I am investing in Ford because it is an iconic American company with a strong history in the automotive industry. I am investing $7,500 in Ford.
In terms of the number of shares I am buying and the price of the shares, I am buying:
- 237 shares of Apple at $42.16 per share, investing $9,991.92
- 150 shares of General Electric at $50.00 per share, investing $7,500

It should be noted that these stock prices, dividends, and investment amounts are based on the time of knowledge cutoff and in the future the prices, dividends, and investment amounts can change and fluctuate. Also, please note that this is a pretend scenario and fictitious money, so I advise you not to invest your personal money based on this assignment.
