In order to improve the care provided to ethnic minorities by nurses, this capstone-change project proposal aims to do just that. This will help them to be patient-oriented while also working with communities from diverse cultures. The cultural competency paradigm states that nurses who have high cultural competence are better equipped to provide adequate care. These guidelines are essential for nurses to provide services that meet the needs of local residents, especially in minorities. Capstone would encourage the inclusion of nurses from diverse cultural backgrounds in the nursing professions, thereby improving the quality of care.
Clinical problem statement
The community-based system for health care delivery, especially among the nurses working in low-income areas, is having difficulty interacting and providing care to people with different social-cultural backgrounds. The majority of these nurses do not understand how to best interact with patients from different backgrounds. This problem has led to a majority of healthcare service providers lacking the ability to provide patient-centered care according the current nurses’ code of professionalism. This has had an impact on nurses’ ability to deliver community-based care while also lacking their cultural competence abilities. This research also aims at addressing the clinical problem of how health care providers can deliver culturally competent services.
Modifications proposed
The Capstone Change Plan proposal will be implemented by the team to significantly improve patient-based care, especially in low-income communities. The guidelines address these individuals’ health care needs and quality standards. The quality of healthcare services, especially for minorities, will improve significantly in the future. The project will lead to a significant improvement in both productivity and living quality.
