Williamsburg, Kings County is where I live. The Dutch founded Breuckelen in the 17th Century. It was a small town that they named Breuckelen. It was this moment that human habitation began in the area. It is located on Long Island’s east bank. In 1898, the city merged it with New York. The area grew into a large metropolis by the turn of the 19th century. New York City governs Brooklyn. The city still has a functioning mayor’s council (Kings), 2021). New York City’s central government oversees services like water supply, sanitation, education, correctional institutions, libraries, libraries, health, welfare and recreation.
The continuous flow of financial-backed Manhattan office offices has helped my community in the recent years. Kings County (Williamsburg), has experienced a steady growth due to its rapid expansion of entertainment and high-tech businesses. The Navy Yard, which was originally built as a shipbuilding facility (Kings, 2021), is notable. With approximately 80000 employees, the Navy Yard was the largest employer of the borough. However, over the years other tenants such as design and food processors have moved into this area. There are many national parks in this area including Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Floyyed Bennet), Coney Island and Coney Island. All of these places are very popular tourist attractions.

My zip code 11211 was home to 85089 people in Williamsburg, New York, in 2000. The 2010 census showed a modest increase to 90117. The current population of my region is 104247. This is despite the high cost-of-living of $165.1, which comes at a time where the national average of $100 is the highest.
Demographic Information
White (36.28%) is the dominant racial grouping in Kings County. The 2019 Census shows that 29.8% (29.8%) of non-Hispanics are African Americans. Thirdly, 11.9% (non-Hispanic) of Kings County are Asians. Whites are 7.9% and 8.3% respectively. The final result is that 45 percent of the residents living in my community don’t speak English. 87% of my neighbors are U.S. citizens. Immigrants make up just 13.3% of our population (Kings 2002). The average commute time to school or work is just 41.8 minutes. Among the top colleges in my region are CUNY Brooklyn College (with 4100 degrees), CUNY New York City of Technology (2900 degree awards in 2019), and CUNY Kingsborough Community College (2600 degrees in 2019).
