Bill de Blasio became the 109th New York mayor at a moment when New York was facing a wealth inequalities problem that led to “The Tale of Two Cities.” His belief that everyone deserves a chance at success was the primary reason he won election. Berg (2007) defined mayoral conduct to be a policy that promotes the city’s economic and racial diversity and enforces federal and state laws. Because a mayor is symbolic in municipal government, they are more affected than other politicians. These external influences also influence the behavior of the mayor.
De Blasio became the mayor of New York in 2014 with the goal to make it a city where all can live. He was a notable administrator, with noteworthy accomplishments such as the Paid Sick Leave Programs, IDNYC and Pre-K for All programs. An online survey about the mayor’s performance determines their popularity. They also want to be remembered, just like all politicians (Berg 2007). Housing New York, for instance, is a wonderful initiative that provides New Yorkers the best and most affordable housing. This will make the mayor a household name in New York and across the nation. Since the start of his second term, crime has declined and the quality of police services has significantly improved. The quality of education is improving as evidenced by better grades and an increase in the number graduates (NYC 2021). New York was able to deliver affordable housing while lowering the greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent in 2050 during De Blasio’s tenure.
