Racial discrimination is a major factor in job performance. Racism can make a workplace hostile. This is because certain people are subject to discrimination and do not receive the same services that other employees. Addressing racism in the workplace can help organizations achieve their goals. This will give them a competitive edge in a world of fierce competition. Smart (2021) predicts that more than three quarters of African-American employees would be subject to unjust treatment at work by 2020. The incidence of racial inequalities among workers of color has risen to 45 percent over the past five years. Recognizing the fact that leaders of diverse organisations fail to understand their responsibility in encouraging equality is critical. It is important to recognize the leadership responsibilities in eliminating inequality in order to create a workplace that benefits everyone regardless of race, religion, and age. Leaders must create and implement solutions to combat racism at work.
Williams (2015) states that there are substantial signs of racism at work in today’s culture. However, some forms of discrimination may not be as common as in previous generations. Because of their hidden nature, workplace discrimination can have far more devastating effects. A culture of diversity must be fostered in order to combat racism at work. In order to increase cooperation, I’ll establish forums where workers can work together, which will result in better interactions. A healthy workplace is built on the fundamental beliefs and regulations of employees. Ineffective techniques and client relationships that are contrary to company culture and principles must be avoided.
