Sometimes, someone may kill without any motive. Serial killers are those who kill more than three victims, usually for psychological pleasure (Lubaszka and al., 2014). Serial killers sometimes commit sexual assault on victims in order to obtain psychological satisfaction. The number of cold cases in America is on the rise, with approximately 40% of serial murder cases unsolved. (National Institute of Justice 2021). Recollections of childhood
Jeffery Dahmer was raised in a similar way to the majority of serial killers. Born in 1960, he was the oldest child of Joyce Annette Dahmer. According to his biography, Jeffery Dhmer is described as an enthusiastic child who loved animals and being outdoors. After watching his father take out bones of animals from their home, it is possible that he became interested in the dead. He began to look for bones and search the internet for dead animals. He was a man of unimaginable dark, which caused his father to be more and more anxious. Lionel Dahmer believes that Jeffery suffered from a potentially traumatic childhood event, possibly leading to his inability to socialize. Freudian theory suggests that Jeffery was responsible for the severed penises of his victim (Miller 2014). Jeffery Dahmer, aged four years old, had surgery to repair a double hernia. He was horrified when his penis was amputationed.
He also watched his mom take anti-anxiety medication, which adversely affected his mental health. He was not given much attention by his parents, who were too busy living their lives. His parents also had conflicts which led to his divorce. Jeffery could have suffered from an abandonment syndrome as a consequence of his divorce. It made it difficult for Jeffery and his older brother to communicate (Fuss (2018). His father, however, was working towards a doctorate and he spent most of his time by himself. Jeffery Dahmer was said to have been abused in that area by his classmate, contributing to his antisocial behavior. While his father has denied that the attack occurred, it could explain why Jeffery Dahmer targeted young boys for rape and torture. Jeffery Dahmer, in his early years of life, was seen as an outsider. This led to him drinking a lot. Jeffery Dahmer, a gay teenager, never told his parents that his first murder occurred in 1978. This was the same year he graduated highschool.
Jeffery Dahmer’s initial murder
Dahmer hosted Steve Hick (a youngster) at his house with cocktails. Dahmer claimed that Hick’s open chest stimulated his erogenous emotions despite him not being confident in approaching women because he was afraid of losing them. Hick tried to flee after drinking hours and conversing with him, but he was attacked by a 4.5-kilogram dumbbell (Jentzen 2020). Hick was unconscious and Dahmer then strangled him to his death. He stripped Hick naked, before masturbating all over him. Da Dahmer took Hick’s body apart and then acidified it, before flushing the waste down the drain. Then he threw the bones in the nearby forest.
