The problem of cyberstalking, which is relatively recent in modern times has attracted more attention. Cyberstalking is the misuse of email and electronic communications to harass and stalk someone. Usually, this involves sending many emails or messages. As a result, the victim is often afraid and emotionally hurt. When the attacker repeatedly sends text messages and emails to the victim, cyberstalking can occur (Short et. al. 2015). These include insults, threats and sexual approaches. Sometimes, the internet monitors the victim’s activities online, such as their whereabouts and movements. Cyberstalking is a crime under federal harassment statutes, and the vast majority of perpetrators have been subject to legal investigation in pursuit of victims’ justice (Reyns & Fissel, 2020). Help Net Security states that 33.3% confess to stalking current and former partners in romantic relationships.
