An example of an internal force for change is resistance to cultural or organizational norms. This type of force can come in the form of employees who are unwilling to abide by certain rules, regulations, or practices that have been set in place. For instance, if a company has implemented a new policy requiring staff to arrive at work on time but some employees are consistently late this could lead to frustrations and disruption in the workplace atmosphere.
In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges facing OD Consultants at Red Carpet is overcoming any resistance they may encounter when attempting to initiate changes within the organization. Sometimes people are resistant to change due simply because it requires them step out of their comfort zone and try something unfamiliar which could be difficult for some individuals even if it would be beneficial for everyone involved. Additionally, consultants will also need to find ways keep people engaged during the process so that everyone remains committed until successful implementation occurs.
