What is your definition of “spiritual care?” How does it differ or accord with the description given in the topic readings?

My definition of spiritual care is the practice of providing emotional and psychological support to individuals by addressing their spiritual needs. This can include helping them find meaning in life, connecting with a higher power or divine being, developing a sense of purpose, fostering an attitude of self-compassion, and cultivating inner peace and serenity. It differs from the description given in the topic readings because it includes more than just religious activities; rather it is about nurturing an individual’s overall wellbeing through creating meaningful connections both within oneself and with others. Spiritual care also recognizes that there are different paths towards achieving a sense of fulfillment which should be respected regardless of one’s beliefs or backgrounds.
