Benefit of exercise in adults
As a nurse, I would take measures to assist clients with health promotion by educating them on the importance of incorporating exercise and physical activity into their lives. This could include providing information on recommended amounts of exercise each week based on individual needs as well as helping them identify realistic goals they can work towards such as taking walks regularly or joining an appropriate fitness class/program. Additionally, I would emphasize the many different benefits physical activity can offer such as improved mood and cognitive functioning, stress reduction, increased energy/stamina levels, better sleep quality etc., in order to make it more appealing for individuals to make lifestyle changes.
Ultimately by taking these steps we can help equip our patients with tools necessary for long-term success when it comes to incorporating regular exercise into their routines in order to reduce risk factors associated with obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases while also achieving improved overall wellbeing moving forward.
