For my organization’s program change to be successful and sustainable, it is important that our culture also adapts accordingly. This means altering certain organizational behaviors and practices which may have been ingrained over time but now need revisiting in order to better facilitate the changes being proposed.
For instance, if our current environment is one where employees are discouraged from speaking up or providing feedback then that needs to shift; instead we should aim for a more collaborative approach where ideas can be freely exchanged between departments in order to identify potential solutions. Additionally, if team members feel like their contributions are not valued then this could affect motivation causing them become disengaged from the process altogether – something which would likely hinder progress as communication issues arise.
Similarly, an open dialogue must exist amongst all levels of staff as well; having top-down directives with minimal input from those lower down hierarchy does not bode well for any meaningful reform since it fails take into account perspectives at different stages of implementation. So creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable sharing opinions (even those which contradict management) without fear of retribution will help promote trust within organization leading greater understanding across board when it comes decision making processes.
Finally I think it is essential that we recognize individuals who go above and beyond their job descriptions by rewarding accomplishments such as proposing innovative solutions or coming up with creative ways tackling existing problems. Doing this sends signal everyone else that hard work appreciated even if result isn’t always desired outcome – thus inspiring others strive do same while helping cultivate positive working relationships among colleagues which are so important sustaining organizational culture moving forward.
All these factors together should enable us build strong foundation upon which future changes can continue building on top thereby ensuring sustainability of programs implemented today.
