My state nurse practitioner organization is heavily involved in a number of legislative and advocacy activities. This includes lobbying for legislation to reduce the barriers that prevent full practice authority for PMHNPs, such as restrictions on prescribing medications and working under supervision. The NP organization also works with other healthcare organizations to ensure that both the public and legislators understand the importance of allowing NPs more autonomy in providing quality care to their patients.

In addition, they actively advocate for increasing access to mental health services by pushing for greater funding from state governments as well as potentially introducing new policies or expanding existing ones (such as insurance parity laws) which could help make treatment options more readily available for those who need it most. Finally, the organization is also involved in promoting diversity within nursing – such as supporting initiatives like free trainings or seminars on working with underserved populations –in order to better meet the needs of all communities across my state.
