Gaining more knowledge of nursing theory through this course has been incredibly beneficial for my clinical practice; by understanding different frameworks I am now better equipped to assess various situations before forming a diagnosis or offering any type of advice. Furthermore, the use of metaphors has helped simplify certain concepts which has allowed me to explain things in a way that is easier for patients to understand.

Moreover, I have also found that taking time to reflect on these theories allows me to better appreciate them and use them in everyday scenarios; this includes topics such as interpersonal communication or ethical considerations which are both essential when providing quality care. Lastly, participation in this course has introduced me to certain research papers which provide additional insight into how best care for specific conditions; being able to draw from multiple resources helps ensure that each patient receives adequate attention regardless if it involves physical or mental wellbeing.

Overall, by studying nursing theory I am now more confident in my ability as a nurse practitioner and look forward to applying what I’ve learned moving forward.
