Sequence and schedule project activities and resources part 2
Project management teams must be aware of this issue and take steps to address it in order to ensure projects stay on track and within budget. If left unchecked, scope creep can lead to increased costs, delays, and frustration among stakeholders which are all undesirable outcomes.
In order to prevent scope creep from becoming an issue project managers should set clear goals and expectations at the outset while remaining proactive in monitoring progress throughout the process. They should also have regular meetings with clients (if applicable) to discuss any potential changes that may arise during course of the project and adjust timelines/budgets accordingly if necessary.
Overall, scope creep can be avoided by staying organized and having good communication between all involved parties but when it does become a focal point teams need to respond quickly and efficiently in order maintain control over their project.
