Week 11 assignment 11.1: applied ethics
In terms of potential outcomes, implementing a universal healthcare system could lead to greater overall health due to increased access and improved quality of care while also reducing financial costs associated with medical services. Conversely, private health insurance could potentially result in higher premiums as well as unequal coverage depending on an individual’s ability or willingness to pay – thus creating a situation where some are better off than others. Ultimately both approaches have their pros and cons that should be taken into consideration when making decisions on how best to provide equitable access to healthcare.
