Disaster planning for public health – no copying or plagiarism
My community is also located near a major body of water which increases potential risks of contamination from oil spills or hazardous material releases from ships that could affect both human and ecological health in the surrounding area. Furthermore, wildfires can occur during hot and dry summers with strong winds which can spread quickly through wooded areas causing extensive damage to property and resources.
In order for my community to best prepare for any disaster it helps to have an understanding of what kind of threats are most likely so that we can create awareness campaigns, develop contingency plans and take proactive steps towards ensuring safety when necessary. By having an idea of what disasters may strike our area we can better plan ahead so that if something does happen it won’t be completely unexpected.
