Nursing-concepts of teaching and learning w-1
Learning theories can be applied to my personal motivation to successfully increase my nursing knowledge in a number of ways. For example, utilizing the behaviorism theory I could create measurable goals that track progress over time and provide rewards for meeting each target; this would give me an incentive to work towards increasing my level of understanding. Similarly, social learning theory suggests that observing others is an important factor when acquiring new skills so actively seeking out mentors or colleagues who already have extensive experience in the field might be beneficial in this regard.
Furthermore, constructivism emphasizes the importance of experience which can come from exploring different topics related to nursing or participating in activities such as simulations where one takes on the role of a nurse themselves. Ultimately by considering how these theories might apply to my own situation I am able to better understand why certain approaches may be more effective than others which gives me insight into what steps I need to take next in order achieve success.
