In the original situation, it seems that the nurse leader did not effectively handle a conflict between two nurses on their team. To better manage this situation, the nurse leader should have taken a more direct approach by addressing the issue head-on with both nurses and encouraging them to come to an agreement about how best to resolve any differences.
This would have allowed for greater understanding between both parties which can be beneficial in situations like these where there are multiple perspectives at play. Additionally, it could also result in finding common ground between them or even allow for uncovering underlying issues that may need to be addressed separately such as feelings of resentment or lack of trust. Furthermore, having an open dialogue encourages both individuals to take ownership and responsibility for their actions which can help foster healthier relationships in the future.
