Assessing and treating clients with psychosis and schizophrenia | Psychopharmacologic Approaches to Treatment of Psychopathology | Walden University
When I initially made the decision to pursue a career in nursing, I expected to gain greater job satisfaction and a sense of purpose—both of which were achieved but not to the extent that I had anticipated. This was due to the fact that while nursing can be very rewarding, it’s also an emotionally and physically demanding field with long hours which can take its toll on one’s mental and physical health over time. Additionally, there is often a lot of paperwork involved with this profession as well as dealing with difficult patients who may have little appreciation for all the hard work being done behind the scenes.
Moreover, due to my own inexperience I encountered some unexpected challenges along the way such as having difficulty understanding certain concepts or feeling overwhelmed by how much there was still left to learn. All these things compounded together resulted in me not achieving everything I had hoped for when taking on this line of work—but despite these setbacks I eventually managed to find ways around them and am now happily employed in a job that brings me immense amounts joy every day.
