By implementing these protocols , professionals can be certain that any data collected is done so fairly and without bias.

Furthermore, it also helps protect an individual’s privacy & autonomy by allowing them to make informed decisions about whether or not they wish to participate . This is especially important for vulnerable populations as it ensures that their rights are respected even if they lack the capacity or knowledge to fully comprehend what is being asked of them. Additionally , IRBs also act as a safeguard against potential risks or harm with protocols in place should any such incidents arise (Unesco, 2018).
