Study plan | NURS 6670 – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Role II: Adults and Older Adults | Walden University
Introduction:
Developing a study plan is essential to attain success in any certification exam. In NRNP 6665, I created a study plan to prepare for my certification exam. In this assignment, I will reflect on the study plan, identify the areas where I excelled and the opportunities for growth, and develop new SMART goals for this quarter.
Reflection:
I achieved most of my SMART goals in the previous quarter. However, I identified some areas where I still need to work, such as pharmacology and health assessment. My focus in the last quarter was to improve my understanding of advanced pharmacology and the effects of different drugs on the body. I also spent a considerable amount of time developing my health assessment skills.
Revised Study Plan:
My revised study plan will focus on consolidating my previous knowledge and filling in the gaps in my knowledge. My strengths include critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I will leverage these skills to address the areas where I need improvement. My study plan will consist of the following:
SMART Goals:
- Enhance my understanding of pharmacology: My first SMART goal for this quarter is to improve my understanding of pharmacology. I will use different resources, such as online courses, textbooks, and review articles, to enhance my knowledge of pharmacology. I will develop a schedule to study pharmacology for at least one hour every day. By the end of the quarter, I aim to score at least 90% on any pharmacology exam.
- Improve my health assessment skills: My second SMART goal is to improve my health assessment skills. I will use various resources, such as textbooks, video tutorials, and clinical practice, to develop my health assessment skills. I will practice different health assessment techniques and record my performance. By the end of the quarter, I aim to conduct a comprehensive health assessment of a patient without any supervision.
- Enhance my understanding of advanced clinical concepts: My third SMART goal is to enhance my understanding of advanced clinical concepts. I will use different resources, such as textbooks, online courses, and clinical practice, to develop my knowledge of advanced clinical concepts. I will develop a schedule to study advanced clinical concepts for at least one hour every day. By the end of the quarter, I aim to be able to apply advanced clinical concepts to diagnose and manage patients independently.
Resources:
To achieve my SMART goals, I will use different resources, such as textbooks, online courses, video tutorials, clinical practice, and study groups. I will use the following resources:
- Textbooks: I will use textbooks to enhance my knowledge of pharmacology and advanced clinical concepts.
- Online courses: I will use online courses to enhance my knowledge of pharmacology and advanced clinical concepts.
- Video tutorials: I will use video tutorials to develop my health assessment skills.
- Clinical practice: I will practice different health assessment techniques and apply advanced clinical concepts in clinical practice.
- Study groups: I will participate in study groups to discuss different clinical concepts and share my knowledge with my peers.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, developing a study plan is essential to prepare for a certification exam. In this assignment, I reviewed my study plan from the previous quarter, identified my strengths and areas for growth, and developed new SMART goals for this quarter. I will use various resources, such as textbooks, online courses, video tutorials, clinical practice, and study groups, to achieve my SMART goals.
