Financial market and corporate investment
The motivation for this study is to explore the current literature on yield-to-maturity (YTM) and its importance in investment decision making. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how YTM may be used as a tool for investors when evaluating various investments, such as bonds, equities, and derivatives. Additionally, it will focus on the different types of yields that are considered in YTM calculations and how these yields can impact an investor’s returns over time. To do this research proposal, we will use a combination of quantitative analysis of existing data combined with qualitative interviews from industry professionals who have experience with utilizing YTM in their own investment decisions. We will supplement our research by analyzing the available financial data on publicly traded companies to get an idea of how they measure up against each other using YTM metrics. Finally, we will use our findings to create a comprehensive report that outlines our research methodology and results to shed light on the importance of understanding yield-to-maturity when making investment decisions.
