As a nursing professional, one can get involved in clinical research by first researching the various opportunities available and then deciding on which type of study best suits their interests and skillset. Depending on the focus area, nurses may be required to do things such as collect data; analyze results; or assist with design, implementation, and/or evaluation of interventions.

The next step would be to gain relevant experience by participating in internships, volunteering at organizations that conduct such studies, or even conducting independent research projects. Once these steps are complete it is important to make connections with other professionals in this field who can provide guidance while also helping open up potential job opportunities.
