- What contacts and/or arrangements have you already made with the selected field experience site?
I have made contact with the Westchester General Hospital and have been accepted as a student nurse for my field experience. I have arranged to work under the supervision of Patricia Garcet, who is the Case Manager’s Director. I have also completed the necessary paperwork and background checks required by the hospital to be allowed to participate in the field experience. I have been given access to the hospital’s policies and procedures, and have received information about the hospital’s mission and values.
- Describe the daily duties and tasks of your proposed preceptor and how they will relate to your field experience?
As the Case Manager’s Director, Patricia Garcet is responsible for overseeing the hospital’s case management program. Her daily duties and tasks include coordinating patient care, ensuring that patients receive the appropriate level of care and resources, and working with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans. As my preceptor, Patricia will be responsible for supervising my field experience and helping me to develop my nursing skills. She will also provide guidance and support as I work with patients and other healthcare professionals.
- What kind of activities, services, population, and resources does your proposed site provide that will relate to your field experience?
Westchester General Hospital provides a wide range of services, including acute care, emergency care, and specialty services. The hospital serves a diverse population, including patients of all ages and backgrounds. As a student nurse, I will have the opportunity to work in various departments and with different patient populations, including medical-surgical, critical care, and pediatrics. The hospital also offers resources such as simulation labs, continuing education programs, and access to the latest medical technologies.
