As a CFO-in-training, that is as one who is being trained for a future CFO job where taking FIN 645 is part of such training, and solely based on what you have learned so far in this class, what have you learned in this course that can help you in your future job as a CFO?

As a CFO in training, I have learned a great deal about the role and responsibilities of the CFO in this course. Through our discussions, we have discussed how the CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of an organization such as budgeting, forecasting, and capital structure management. Additionally, I have been able to learn more about risk management techniques used by CFOs that help to protect their organizations from potential financial losses due to market volatility or other unforeseen circumstances.

Furthermore, I have also gained knowledge on various accounting principles such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) which help ensure accurate reporting and analysis of financial information. I am now familiar with different types of financial statements including balance sheets & income statements; which can be used to assess the performance & health of companies over time.

In addition, this class has provided me with a greater understanding around topics such as mergers & acquisitions – helping me gain insight into important considerations when considering such decisions along with applicable methods/models that can be employed to evaluate potential outcomes.

Overall, taking FIN 645 has proven to be extremely beneficial towards my future career aspirations as it has given me a comprehensive overview of what is expected from CFOs within different industries & how they must effectively manage resources while still making sound strategic decisions going forward.
