Compare and contrast three different qualitative research methodologies.

Qualitative research methodologies involve gathering data through non-numerical means in order to gain deeper insights into a particular subject. When comparing these approaches, there are three main differences worth noting: the type of information collected, the level of structure involved, and the overall purpose of the study.

The first approach is ethnography which involves observing people in their natural settings and documenting their behaviors/interactions; this methodology allows researchers to gain direct insight into how individuals think and act within certain contexts which can then be used towards improving products or services. The second option is phenomenology which focuses on understanding subjective experiences; this typically involves interviews with participants about their perceptions or feelings surrounding different topics in order to better understand underlying motivations.

Finally, case studies are an interesting approach because they provide a more comprehensive look at a phenomenon by using multiple sources such as interviews/observations along with existing research. While all three methods offer unique perspectives – ethnography generally provides more objective data while phenomenology tends to result in more subjective interpretations and case studies often combine both elements together when looking at larger issues. Therefore, depending on what kind of information is needed – any one of these qualitative research options could be beneficial for uncovering valuable insights.
