2) Utilise assistive technology: There are numerous technologies available to help individuals with dementia manage day-to-day tasks such as medication reminders, audio/visual cues for specific activities, or GPS location tracking devices.
3) Engage in sensory stimulation activities: Engaging in activities like music therapy, pet therapy, art classes or aromatherapy can help reduce stress levels as well as improve cognitive functioning in individuals with dementia.
4) Encourage physical activity: Physical exercise not only helps boost mood but also has been linked to improved cognition in those with Alzheimer’s disease. Activities like walking or light stretching can be done on a regular basis to help promote both physical fitness and mental wellbeing.
