A quantitative study involves the collection of numerical data that can be used to analyze and measure a specific phenomenon in order to draw conclusions. This type of research method typically relies on surveys, experiments, or statistical software programs and provides important insights into larger trends across population samples.

On the other hand, qualitative studies involve the collection and analysis of non-numerical data such as observations, interviews, or open-ended questions. This approach is often used to gain deeper understanding about a particular topic from an individual’s perspective which helps researchers uncover insights that may not be visible when relying solely on numbers. Ultimately both quantitative and qualitative studies are important for gaining valuable information; however depending on the situation one may be more suitable than the other when it comes to answering certain types of questions.
