Module 6 discussion #1 comment
To strengthen inter-organizational coordination, both vertically and horizontally, it is important to develop a system of communication that can effectively move information between different organizations in order to facilitate better collaboration. This could include the use of email or digital messaging services such as Slack which provide an effective platform for sharing documents, brainstorming ideas and discussing projects with colleagues. Additionally, utilizing more automated processes such as cloud-based project management systems can help streamline tasks while also providing greater visibility into progress on any given project.
It is also beneficial to establish clear roles and responsibilities when working across multiple organizations so everyone knows who is accountable for certain actions – this way avoid miscommunication or duplication of effort by different employees. Furthermore, regular meetings should be held to discuss progress on joint ventures or initiatives in order ensure all parties are aware of what has been done thus far as well as anything else that may need addressing down the line.
Ultimately though if there is strong cross organizational cooperation then meaningful results are much more likely occur than if each organization was operating independently without any consideration for how their decisions might affect other stakeholders involved.
