I am pursuing an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) role at South because I am passionate about providing quality healthcare to members of my community. From a young age, I have been driven to make a difference in people’s lives and use my knowledge and skills to positively impact their health outcomes. Through my volunteer work as an EMT and experience working in the clinical environment, I saw firsthand how nurses could provide valuable care to individuals while also having the opportunity to contribute towards larger-scale initiatives such as public health prevention strategies or population-based research projects.
As an APN, I will be able to take on a more active role in patient care—from diagnosis and treatment to health education—while still being able to collaborate with other healthcare professionals for improved outcomes. Additionally, this role offers me the flexibility of setting my own schedule which is important given my personal commitments as a wife and mother. Ultimately, becoming an APN allows me to combine my passion for helping others with the flexibility that comes with it—which is why it is such a perfect fit for me.
