Describe the theory and your rationale for selecting  the theory.

I have chosen to use the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) as my selected theory, due to its emphasis on learning through observation and modeled behavior. This theory suggests that an individual’s environment not only plays a role in their development but it can also be used to modify behaviors which are usually acquired through observing others. Additionally, this approach further highlights how people’s beliefs and attitudes affect their actions while also taking into account external influences such as rewards and punishments.

In terms of my rationale for selecting SCT; I believe this model is particularly applicable when addressing issues related to health promotion or prevention given its focus on understanding how environmental factors shape our decisions. Furthermore; it is also useful for identifying potential triggers or barriers which may be hindering progress towards desired outcomes thereby providing opportunities for targeted interventions accordingly.

Overall by applying this approach healthcare providers can gain valuable insight about why certain behaviors occur which in turn enables them to better tailor treatments plans based on specific needs of each individual. As such, SCT has numerous applications within clinical settings and continues to remain an important concept within the field of psychology today.
