Week 8 course project: part 8 – evaluating your progress | Speech | Chamberlain College of Nursing
There have been a few situations in which I was dissatisfied with my approach to improving my interpersonal communication. For example, when engaging in conversations with peers or colleagues, I sometimes get too focused on providing answers instead of actively listening and considering others’ perspectives. This has caused me to miss out on different points of view that could have potentially enriched the dialogue.
Additionally, I tend to be more hesitant about expressing my opinions or disagreeing with others due to fear of confrontation which can lead to missed opportunities for learning from different perspectives. To address these issues, I am working on developing better active listening skills as well as becoming more comfortable speaking up when needed in order to foster an open environment where everyone can feel heard and respected.
