Week 1 assignment system thinking | DDHA 8900 – Healthcare Quality Management | Walden University
From a systems level perspective, the input for my organization would be the resources such as materials, personnel and capital that are needed to produce our goods and provide services. The throughput would involve activities such as production, storage, marketing that transform these resources into products or services. The output is then what we actually produce and deliver to customers. Outcomes refer to the results of our actions which can include increased customer satisfaction, cost savings from efficiencies gained in our processes or improved employee morale from enhanced training programs. Finally, feedback involves data that is collected from various sources such as surveys or studies regarding how well all of these components are performing so that adjustments can be made if necessary.
Overall by looking at an organization through a systems-level lens it allows us to gain a holistic understanding of how each component works together in order to achieve desired goals. By doing this type of analysis we can identify any weak spots in the chain and make changes where needed in order to maximize performance across the board while also reaching organizational objectives more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
