The most intractable organizational problem I have ever encountered as an employee was a lack of clear communication between departments. This caused confusion amongst staff members and greatly hindered their ability to collaborate, leading to projects taking far longer than they should have due to miscommunication and misunderstandings. Furthermore, this also created tension between colleagues which impacted the overall team dynamic and resulted in decreased productivity.

In order to address this issue, we first identified the root causes by interviewing employees across all departments in order to get an understanding of their feelings and experiences. We then held coaching sessions with management in order to develop a better understanding of how each department operated and the specific challenges they were facing on a daily basis. Finally, we implemented procedures for more frequent check-ins between teams as well as increased transparency around decision-making processes – both of which helped to reduce confusion whilst also providing everyone with access to the same information at any given time.

Ultimately, these changes took time for people to adjust but eventually led us towards achieving our desired outcome; clearer communication channels were established within the organization which made it easier for teams from different departments to work together effectively.
