Critiquing a quantitative research study
The main weaknesses associated with quantitative studies are the potential for researcher bias due to preconceived notions about the data being collected as well as the difficulty in generalizing findings from one population or setting to another. Additionally, there may be certain elements that cannot be measured numerically (such as emotions) which could make it difficult to capture certain aspects of a research topic. Furthermore, because results from such studies are often limitedly reported in terms of numbers or percentages it can be difficult for readers to truly understand what those numbers represent without additional context provided by qualitative research methods.
