Week 6 assignment: current event – free and fair trade or budgetary
The issue of climate change should be seen as urgent because its effects are already being felt globally; glaciers are melting faster than ever before causing sea levels to rise significantly in some areas while others face unprecedented droughts or floods. In addition, these events have devastating economic consequences such as when hurricanes destroyed entire coastal cities or when agricultural production was affected by changing rain patterns leading to food shortages across certain regions. Without drastic action taken now there could be irreparable damage done both environmentally and economically with long lasting effects felt around the world for years if not centuries ahead. Therefore we must work together at a global scale to mitigate climate change through reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and more sustainable use of resources else tensions between countries may arise over access to resources if scarcity continues unchecked.
