In order for this collaboration and trust to take place, each member needs to have a sense of shared purpose, responsibility, openness, honesty, commitment and courage. Shared purpose means understanding why their work matters and what success looks like; responsibility focuses on taking ownership of their own tasks as well as supporting their peers; openness requires being honest about mistakes; honesty involves admitting mistakes when they occur; commitment means devoting time necessary for working through difficult times; finally courage encourages creativity during challenging situations.
With these elements in play throughout the duration of a crisis situation- members can develop an environment where mutual respect for one another exists which leads to strengthened collaboration and trust among the group. The increased levels of collaboration will enable all stakeholders within the team to better understand each other’s strengths/weaknesses thus allowing them build off one another’s ideas towards achieving successful outcomes from whatever challenges arise within the group dynamics. As such it is essential that any group going through a period of adversity invest time into nurturing every aspect highlighted above if they wish establish more resilient foundation moving forward both inside/outside present crisis conditions.
