The decisions I recommended for the patient case study were evidence-based and supported by literature. For instance, I suggested that the patient receive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as a form of treatment. CBT is an evidence-based intervention that has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, I recommended lifestyle changes such as physical exercise and meditation which have both been demonstrated to improve mental health outcomes.

Furthermore, I proposed medication management with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which are commonly used medications for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. Finally, I suggested referral to a support group or therapist specializing in trauma-related issues given her history of abuse and PTSD diagnosis—evidence suggests that group psychotherapy can reduce PTSD symptom severity.
