Discussion: developing a culture of evidence-based practice
Another strategy is to focus on education and training around EBPs. Educating staff on recent research findings can help improve their knowledge of current best practice guidelines and motivate them to implement these new protocols into their own practice settings. Additionally, providing resources such as access to relevant journals articles or hosting lectures from experts in the field will arm healthcare providers with the tools they need when deciding whether or not they should incorporate a specific protocol into their daily routine.
Finally, staying abreast of changing regulations related to health care delivery systems can ensure organizations remain compliant while also implementing strategies that best serve patients’ needs based on constantly evolving evidence base literature. As regulations change so too do standards of care which often require providers update how they deliver services; staying informed of changes allows organizations greater flexibility when determining what interventions make sense in any given situation as well as making sure they adhere to required guidelines set forth by governing bodies.
