practicum experience week 2 – 3
Limitations: Evidence-based projects rely heavily on quantitative data which can be difficult to interpret and may not capture all aspects of an intervention’s impact. Additionally, gathering data in this way is often costly and time consuming which can be a barrier for many health care systems with limited resources. Finally, practice changes resulting from evidence-based projects require ongoing effort in order to sustain them over time; this commitment may be difficult to maintain due to competing priorities or shifting organizational dynamics.
Potential Barriers To Sustaining Practice Changes: Potential barriers to sustaining practice changes include lack of adequate resources (e.g., personnel or funding), inability to implement new procedures quickly enough due to existing infrastructure constraints or cultural resistance among staff members, difficulty obtaining buy-in from stakeholders external or internal (e.g., payers or governing bodies), inconsistent assessment practices leading to inaccurate results/recommendations/actions taken by providers/organizations based on those results, inadequate communication between involved parties regarding desired goals/outcomes for the project at hand as well as any resulting action plans put into place.
