Progress in nursing in the early to mid-20th century
One area of change in nursing during the 1980s that intrigues me is the increasing use of technology. At this time, nurses were beginning to incorporate new computer systems, medical equipment, and innovative practices into their daily routine. This shift towards incorporating technology into healthcare was largely driven by the need to be more efficient in caring for patients and providing better quality care. Today, this area could continue to be applied in a variety of ways including using mobile applications and other digital health tools to improve patient outcomes while also improving communication between caregivers and patients. Additionally, artificial intelligence has been used effectively in many hospitals today to automate data collection processes which enable nurses to spend more time with patients. Furthermore, telemedicine services have become increasingly popular allowing remote diagnosis and treatment of individuals who may otherwise be unable to access traditional healthcare services due to geographic distance or other barriers. Technology can also help provide real-time access to medical information as well as facilitate collaboration amongst healthcare professionals across different regions or countries.
