Medical law and ethics module one
A possible ethical dilemma relating to the field of software engineering would be the issue of creating privacy settings within an application. As technology becomes increasingly advanced, many applications that are created by software engineers contain large amounts of data and personal information from its users. It is up to the software engineer to create a secure environment where user information is protected and private, as well as develop features for users to control their own privacy settings.
However, this could potentially conflict with the need for organizations or companies to use user data for targeted marketing or other uses. It is then up to the software engineer to find a balance between providing security for users while also allowing companies access needed data without compromising user privacy.
