Module 05 discussion – critical thinking and clinical judgment | Nursing | Rasmussen College System
My critical thinking process is to consider all of the available information and facts, weigh their importance and relevance, develop a plan or strategy for addressing the issue at hand, then prioritize that plan with the goal of achieving an optimal outcome. I think critically by asking questions such as “What are the potential risks associated with this decision?” or “What other solutions may be possible?” In order to organize my care implementation plan, I always start with setting goals. Then I break down my plan into manageable tasks that can be tackled one at a time in order of priority (based on how quickly they can be achieved). Finally, I evaluate progress to make sure each task is completed within an acceptable timeframe and has met quality standards before moving onto the next task.
