How to apply the multiplication rule
In order to determine the value of the probability of A and B, we need to figure out if the events are independent or dependent. If the events are independent then their probabilities can simply be multiplied together in order to calculate their combined probability. However, if they are dependent then we need to use conditional probabilities in order to calculate their combined probability. This would involve calculating P(A|B) and P(B|A), as well as multiplying these together for an overall answer.
