The results of the decisions in the exercise were generally in line with what I expected to achieve. For example, increasing the price of a product would lead to fewer sales and decreasing the size of an advertising budget would reduce overall demand for the product. However, there were some unexpected results as well. For instance, when I increased customer service levels, sales actually decreased rather than increasing as I had anticipated. This could have been due to a number of factors such as inadequate resources allocated to customer service or lack of understanding by customers about how their experience has improved.
