Safety goals guidelines: speak up depression
A recent study found that nurses in hospitals are often overworked and underpaid, leading to increased stress levels and burnout. This is a concerning issue because it can lead to decreased patient satisfaction, missed errors, and even medical malpractice. Evidence suggests that when nurses feel undervalued or lack resources they cannot provide the best care possible for their patients (Reeves et al., 2015). It is essential that nursing leaders prioritize the well-being of their staff by providing adequate staffing levels to reduce workloads, fair compensation packages, and ongoing support services such as mentorship programs and education opportunities. Without these measures, nurses may be more likely to make mistakes or miss important details which could have serious consequences on patient safety (Chow et al., 2017). To ensure quality care for all patients, nursing leaders must take steps to easily facilitate evidence-based practice in order to create an environment where nurses can thrive.
