Evolving local and global community health concerns
The role of the public health nurse in international care is to provide access to primary healthcare services for vulnerable populations. This may include providing vaccinations, maternal health care, and other preventative or curative treatments as needed. Additionally, they may serve as a resource for local communities by educating them on proper hygiene standards, sharing important information about disease prevention or managing chronic illness conditions. In some cases they may also act as an advocate or mediator between local healthcare providers and global policy makers in order to ensure that the most effective and efficient regulations are implemented at a community level.
