Describe how you will design your PSA to be culturally competent.

1. Research the cultural values and norms of the target audience: In order to ensure my PSA is culturally competent, I will research the cultural values and norms of the target audience to understand their perspectives on the issue that I am attempting to address. This research can include conversations with individuals from diverse backgrounds, attending relevant events and conferences, reading up on literature related to a particular culture or tradition as well as consulting experts in this field.

2. Utilize appropriate language: To make sure my PSA resonates with different cultures and communities, I will use language that is respectful of diverse traditions. This includes avoiding any derogatory terms or words that could be seen as offensive by some people in my target audience.

3. Tailor visuals for each culture: When creating visuals for a culturally competent PSA, I will strive to incorporate images and symbols that are meaningful and relevant for each culture represented in my target audience. This may include choosing colors associated with certain cultures or featuring landmarks that have special significance within these communities.

4. Involve members of different cultures during production: Throughout each step of production – from concepting ideas to filming footage – I will involve members of different cultures who can provide valuable insights into making sure our final product resonates with its intended audience.
