Union avoidance and ethics! due tomorrow , 5/19/19.
Wal-Mart does have an ethical obligation to its employees and society when it comes to union organizing efforts. This is because the company has a responsibility to protect workers’ rights and provide them with fair wages, benefits, and working conditions. If Wal-Mart were to refuse these efforts or retaliate against those attempting to form a union they would essentially be denying their employees the right of collective bargaining which is protected under federal law. Additionally, unions can play an important role in helping raise standards throughout multiple industries thus making Wal-Mart’s actions not just unethical but detrimental to overall societal progress as well.
